Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting function is responsible for all external financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including SEC filings, quarterly earnings releases, 401(k) and investor relations presentations. The Sr. Manager, Technical Accounting, serves as an internal consultant to address complex transactions and issues faced by the business. This role reports to the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, and will assist with:
- Monitoring and researching new accounting standards, summarizing and communicating impacts to executives and the Audit Committee, and leading process changes where necessary.
- Analyzing and understanding complex transactions, applying standards, developing solutions, and effectively communicating results to stakeholders.
- Reviewing and monitoring corporate accounting policies, working with stakeholders to revise policies as needed to ensure they remain effective, efficient, and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams including General Accounting, FP&A, Manufacturing, IT, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, and others.
- Managing periodic reviews for complex accounting areas such as impairment, restructuring, investments, consolidation, joint ventures, and lease accounting.
- Preparing financial statements and disclosures for complex accounting issues.
- Liaising with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure effective audits.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA certification.
- 8+ years of experience with complex accounting, SEC reporting, and GAAP.
- Proven success managing a team through ambiguity while driving results.
Prior experience in Big 4 public accounting is highly preferred.
