The Senior Director, Learning & Innovation is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving educational technology excellence and innovation within online course learning experiences. This position oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of learning solutions, while aligning those solutions with organizational goals and industry best practices. The Senior Director, Learning & Innovation leads a team, administering and overseeing digital education platforms and educational technology tools that achieve customer objectives, as well as ensuring that customers are capitalizing on all new features and benefits of learning systems and third-party applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the learning technology team to ensure that university customers fully leverage learning system and technology platform applications – with a relentless focus on continual improvement, enhancement, innovation and overall end user experience.
Oversee all learning technology initiatives from inception to deployment, developing the scope, resources, KPIs, milestones and tracking required to ensure seamless execution.
Serve as the key point of contact for the university’s content management and learning management systems, understanding system functionality and configurations.
Work closely with key vendors and Technical Account Manager(s) for critical systems.
Remain current on all new releases of learning platforms and technology to ensure universities are benefitting from new features and enhancements.
Make recommendations on products and enhancements that benefit the overall learning experience.
Research emerging technologies and their application to digital teaching and learning
Responsible for monitoring support and enhancement requests related to learning technologies, ensuring that the appropriate workflows are in place to efficiently prioritize and process updates.
Remain agile and focused on optimizing business processes and learning technology operations to improve digital teaching and learning delivery.
Possess a level of technology expertise of core learning technologies, and adopts industry best practices in learning technology deployment.
Assumes accountability for success of learning technology design and implementation in accord with agreed scope of work.
Serves as a resource in troubleshooting and problem-solving university customer system issues, providing regular reports and updates as needed.
Establishes regular reporting and metrics to monitor team progress to goals and identify gaps.

Education & Experience Requirements :
Experience:
7 + years of experience working in learning technology, ideally in a large progressive online university, professional education or ed tech environment
Comprehensive knowledge of learning technology products and platforms that support degree programs as well as non-degree and certificate programs
Proficient in Desire 2 Learn, Adobe Experience Manager, Articulate 360 and other learning experience tools; experience in managing interactive e-learning is a plus
Experience solving business problems (preferably related to course content management/development) in a higher education setting
Experience managing large systems-based projects and technically administering cloud-based content management and delivery products
Experience administering a Content Management System or Learning Management System (running reports, configuring settings, testing, etc.)

Hiring Range:
$156,000.00 - $166,400.00
