If only Med/Surg experience, then a minimum of 2 years with some PCU experience. License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; AACN (preferred), CCRN (preferred) Must-Have: Charge experience; Trauma experience; Experience with Stroke patients; Ability to perform neuro checks every 2 hours; Experience with high flow oxygen, chest tubes, wound vacs, and general drain/ostomy care; Experience with ventilated patients; Cardiac rhythm interpretation; Experience with cardiac drips and insulin titration. Description: The position involves providing care to patients in an intermediate care unit. Ideal candidates will be familiar with a range of medical conditions, including neuro strokes, stable craniotomies, respiratory illnesses, and cardiac issues. The nurse will manage patients with conditions such as CHF, AFIB, and post-operative recovery from cardiac procedures. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for RNs and 1:6-12 for techs, based on staffing. Support on the unit includes resources such as a phlebotomist, resource nurse, and hospitalist available 24/7. The role may require floating to other departments based on assignments. Charting is done using a preferred system. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and holiday expectations vary by unit needs.
