TravelNurseSource is working with MedCadre to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Twin Falls, Idaho, 83302! About The Position Unit Notes Beds ICU and PCU combination unit 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds Nurse: Patient Ratios ICU 1:1-2 PCU 1:3 Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS ACLS NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients Travelers do not get specialty patients: vented, cardiac- post PCI, impella, IABP, stroke- TNK, Targeted temperature management (TTM) - with Zoll cooling/ thermoguard, vascular, (NO CV surgical), traumas, EtOH, sepsis, OD, some abdominal trauma and surgical, CRRT etc. Experience or 'Must have' skills Must Have: thermaguard/Zoll- cooling experience with TTM MUST have EPIC experience MUST have previous travel experience Prefer: 2 years of ICU Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips standard ICU drips, vasoactive, sedative, etc. PCU: mild titrations- some pressors titrated within written parameters etc. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge is without assignment and supports the whole unit (ICU and PCU) Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios CNAs- 1:8 ratio Duties: VS, foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, specimen collection, etc. Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Intensivist: 7 days a week, mostly days, eICU for nights-camera and screen in room for night time calls- orders etc. Hospitalist: in house 24/7 RT in ICU 24/7 in unit 24/7 RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc.) Manage vents and respiratory treatments, specimens, and bronchs etc. Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Tele tech on unit: tech monitors in house and sister sites. RN to be comfortable reading and interpreting tele Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Shifts are 7-7 Scheduling tech to assist with scheduling. Traveler to fill in gaps, and be flexible, will consider block scheduling if works with unit needs. Weekend Requirements Usually every other weekend, could be less depending on need. Holiday Requirements Yes, as needed. Is there a call or standby requirement? None, possibility for extra shifts Floating Requirements Floating between ICU- PCU patients within the unit. Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy Blue Unit/Department specific orientation 2 on the unit Additional Notes Great culture, lots of teamwork in the department, and involve/ interact with travelers.
