We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for managing supplier quality activities, developing and maintaining supplier relationships, conducting supplier audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for all Weiss-Aug locations. The SQE will work closely with the procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure supplier processes align with Weiss-Aug's quality standards.
Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop and implement supplier quality requirements, including incoming inspection processes, supplier scorecards, and corrective actions.
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, and other relevant industry standards.
- Work with suppliers to improve product quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall process reliability.
- Evaluate new and existing suppliers for risk assessment and capability analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Lead problem-solving activities (8D, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA) related to supplier-related defects and non-conformances.
- Ensure supplier processes comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Maintain supplier-related quality documentation, including PPAP, FAI, control plans, and certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide training and guidance to suppliers on quality systems, best practices, and defect prevention.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the automotive, medical device, or precision manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or ISO 13485 quality standards.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D problem-solving.
- Lead Auditor/Supplier Auditor Certified.
- Experience with supplier audits, process validations, and risk assessments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and quality management software is a plus.
Pay Range : $100k-$120k
