**Job Title: Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Location:** Berlin, VT
**Facility Type:** Acute Care Medical-Surgical with Telemetry
**Shifts:** 12-Hour Night Shifts **Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts at an acute care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in medical-surgical nursing with telemetry experience, and be prepared to deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. **Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver acute nursing care to patients with a variety of diagnoses including telemetry, post-operative orthopedic, urology, GI, respiratory conditions, and more.
- Apply, interpret, and actively respond to telemetry monitoring; ensure timely intervention based on telemetry readings.
- Conduct essential procedures such as NG tube insertion and peripheral IV placement with precision and care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including RNs, LPNs, and LNAs, to provide seamless patient care and support.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation using the Epic electronic medical record system.
- Engage with patients and their families, advocating for their needs and providing education regarding their care plans. **Requirements:**
- Current RN license required; license details must be submitted at the time of application.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 1 year of experience in telemetry nursing.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (must be completed before starting). Telemetry certification preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience is required, with at least two assignments in facilities with 300+ beds or previous experience in a large acute care facility.
- Proficiency in using Epic EMR within the last two years is mandatory.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care. **Additional Information:**
- Patient-nurse ratio is typically 3-5 during the day and 4-6 at night, with ancillary support provided by CNAs and PCTs.
- This unit emphasizes collaboration and teamwork; a proactive and positive attitude is essential.
- Reliable transportation is recommended, as housing may be located up to 15 minutes away from the facility.
