Shift: Day Shift, 4x10-Hour (09:30 - 20:00) - Staggered shifts (6:30a-5p and 9:30a-8p)
Call Requirement: 48 hours of weekend call per 6-week period + 14 weekday night shifts
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse to function in both scrub and circulating roles for complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures. This role requires proficiency in hybrid OR cases and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with staggered shifts and significant call responsibility.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent CVOR experience. Must have experience scrubbing and circulating vascular/hybrid cases.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
- Technical Skills: Cerner and PowerChart electronic medical record system experience is REQUIRED.
- Availability: Must be available for significant call requirements - 48 weekend hours and 14 weeknight shifts per 6-week period.
- Travel Policy: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted with rate differential.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as both scrub and circulating nurse for complex cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and general surgery procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms with specialized instrumentation and equipment for cardiac, vascular, and hybrid procedures.
- Assist with complex cases including coronary artery bypass grafts, valve replacements, aortic repairs, and endovascular procedures.
- Operate and manage specialized equipment including cell saver, endoscopic equipment, and robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi).
- Maintain sterile technique and monitor the surgical field throughout procedures.
- Administer medications and blood products during surgical procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with cardiovascular surgeons, perfusionists, and the surgical team.
Unit & Patient Population Details
- Surgical Specialties: Cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, general surgery, gynecological surgery, and robotic-assisted procedures.
- Procedure Types: Open heart surgery, valve replacements, aortic aneurysm repairs, endovascular procedures, thoracic surgery, and complex vascular cases.
- Clinical Focus: Complex cardiac and vascular procedures, hybrid OR cases, robotic surgery, and emergency trauma cases.
- Care Environment: 13-room operating suite handling 30-40 daily cases across multiple surgical specialties.
- Technology: Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, hybrid OR capabilities, cell saver technology, advanced monitoring equipment.
- Team Structure: Collaborative environment working with surgical technologists, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary surgical teams.
- Scrubs: Provided by facility
Scheduling & Call Requirements
- Shift Pattern: Alternating 10-hour shifts (6:30a-5p and 9:30a-8p)
- Weeknight Call: Monday-Friday, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (14 shifts per 6 weeks)
