Echo Tech Position
This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. As an Echo Tech at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures that utilize high frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease.
- Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered.
- Documents and communicates patient related information thoroughly and accurately.
- Monitors equipment reliability and safety. Reports issues and/or repairs or service due.
- Actively participates in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) certification
- New graduate hires must obtain registry within 18 months of hire
- Health Care Provider Life Support certification
- May require local travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- One (1) year ultrasound experience
- Pediatric Echo certification highly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$35.25 - $54.39
