Systems Engineer - Ground Management & Integration (GMI) Scottsdale, AZ Contract Position Pay Estimated: $82.19-$87.19/Hour This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.) Active Secret Clearance Required Join our team supporting the next phase of the
Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) , contributing to the
Ground Management and Integration (GMI)
segment. This role supports the evolution of
ground systems architecture
initiated in Tranche 1 and advancing through Tranche 2, including efforts on
SUPERNOVAs ,
Ground Entry Points (GEPs) , and
cloud-based system design . Responsibilities: Support the architecture and decomposition of ground system requirements across complex space-ground systems. Lead and support
end-to-end system engineering
including architecture, design, interfaces, and test case development
Collaborate with mission partners and stakeholders to define, refine, and translate mission needs into
system designs
Decompose system-level space-ground requirements into
software/system-level designs
Coordinate closely with
developers, integration & test teams
to validate that components align with
mission needs
Apply
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
methodologies using tools like
Cameo
or
MagicDraw
Support modeling, simulation, and analysis activities using tools such as
STK
Integrate
cloud computing
and
microservices architecture
into system design strategies
Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law Bachelor’s degree
in Systems Engineering or related STEM field
(Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)
8+ years
of related experience (or
6+ years
with Master’s)
Active
DoD Secret clearance
required at time of hire
Preferred Qualifications: Agile Development
experience Experience in
ground system design ,
scheduling systems , or
mission tracking
Background in
satellite communications , including
ground-to-satellite interfaces
Expertise in
cloud-based microservice architectures
and system/software design
Familiarity with
Java ,
Python ,
MATLAB
for coordination, analysis, or modeling
Proficiency with
MBSE tools
(e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw)
Simulation experience using
STK
or similar tools
