Village Home Stores (Downtown Geneseo) is looking for an applicant to add to our busy Lighting and Window Treatment team. You will work with new and existing customers to help them make lighting and blind selections for their home. Village Home Stores works with new home customers, DIY customers, and home remodelers. Every project we work on is different from the next. Great hours in a fun and exciting industry. No Nights, Short Saturdays, No Sundays!
Position Requirements:
· Lighting and window treatment experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate
· Degree, related education, or experience in interior design with residential design focus a bonus, but not required
· Current with design trends and enthusiastic about the industry
· Outgoing personality
· Excessive professionalism
· High organizational skills
Position Job Responsibilities:
· Greet customers entering the lighting showroom
· Assist walk-in and appointment customers with lighting purchases by utilizing good product knowledge
· Schedule and meet with customers by appointment who have larger scale projects and new construction jobs that require more time
· Schedule and execute job site visits with lighting customers to gain needed knowledge to create accurate quotes and help them make the best choice for their situation · Accurately read blue prints to create list of needed fixtures
· Create accurate lighting quotes utilizing Quickbooks and XO Lighting Online · Communicate with builders, project managers, and electricians when needed
· Become an expert in under cabinet lighting technical aspects and design and quote under cabinet lighting projects
· Assist walk-in and appointment customer with window treatments by utilizing good product knowledge
· Schedule and execute job site visits for final measurements on window treatment orders
· Assist with answering phones
· Assist with maintaining lighting showroom
· Perform miscellaneous tasks around lighting showroom such as hanging fixtures, price tags, dusting, ect.
· Pull bulb packages for all jobs
· Assist with ordering, tracking and receiving lighting products (will include minor lifting)
· Order replacement fixtures when needed and return damaged/defective when necessary
· Coordinate window treatment installation and follow up upon completion
· Assist in the success of Village Home Stores in any way possible
Hours: Monday—Thursday, 8:45am-5pm; Saturdays (2 out of 4) - 8:45am - 12pm A 1/2 day may be taken off during the week when it is your Saturday to work if desired.
· Yearly Bonus based 50% personal contributions to the team and 50% on the overall performance of the team
