Position Summary:
Sinai Chicago is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Department of Interventional Radiology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, a level I trauma center. You will work in collaboration with a team of 4 fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists providing the full spectrum of IR services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inpatient and outpatient consultations, including H&Ps, consultation and progress notes
Educate patients on procedures, including risks, benefits, alternatives, and expected outcomes
Participate in the informed consent process per institutional policy
Complete H&P and pre-procedure assessments for IR procedures, including sedation assessments and relevant clinical evaluations
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies/imaging
Develop competency in basic IR procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, image-guided biopsies, drainage, aspirations, PICCs, Ports)
Assist Interventional Radiologists during complex procedures
Maintain required certifications and licensure (CPR, ACLS, state license, etc.)
Comply with institutional/departmental policies and continuing education requirements
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
Active and valid license to practice in the state of Illinois
Certification in basic CPR and ACLS
Willingness to learn and grow within the IR specialty
Schedule & Benefits:
Full-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
No weekend or after-hours call
