QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR

This position is responsible to inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh finished products for conformance to specifications requirements. Use precision measuring instruments and test equipment. The following are core essential functions of the position:

Analyze and interpret data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required. Maintain and adjust the product printing devises. Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models. Grade, classify, and sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications. Inspect, test, or measure finished products for conformance to specifications. Reject products not meeting specifications. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded. Compute defect percentages or averages, using formulas and calculators, and prepare reports of inspection or test findings. Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results. Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status. Assist production management in monitoring ongoing production. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Assist in training of production operators with respect to quality parameters. Read dials and meters to verify that testing equipment is functioning at specified levels. Clean, maintain, repair, and calibrate measuring instruments and test equipment such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, and height gauges. Stack and arrange tested products for further processing, shipping, or transport products to grinding stations as necessary. Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of issues or unusual matters of significance. Comply with all company standards, rules and policies. Reliable attendance. Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED.

SCHEDULE /PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

• Must be able to work 8-hour shifts.

• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.

• Must be able to lift, push and lift product with weights up to 60 pounds.
