Splitter Operator
As a Splitter Operator, you will play an essential role in the production process by loading machines with rolls of paper, threading machines, and making splices as necessary. You will remove coils of twisted paper from machines and stack them on pallets, while continuously monitoring machine operations to ensure efficiency and quality. Additionally, you will adjust the clutch to maintain coil integrity, verify the proper width and thickness of paper, report defective or non-functioning test equipment, gauge dies to assure proper size according to production specifications, initiate production records, perform quality tests, and report any non-conformities. Responsibilities
Load machines with rolls of paper and thread machines. Remove coils of twisted paper and stack on pallets. Monitor machines while in operation. Adjust clutch to maintain coil integrity. Verify proper width and thickness of paper. Report defective or non-functioning test equipment. Gauge dies to assure proper size according to production specifications. Initiate production records. Perform quality tests and report any non-conformities. Load and set up machine to product specifications. Remove slitted pads and maneuver them out of the machine. Stack cut pads on pallets or deliver them to Spinners. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 60 lbs. Physical stamina to walk and stand for 12 hours excluding breaks. Capability to reach, crawl, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods. Visual ability, depth perception, and ability to distinguish color. Hearing ability. Work Environment
The work environment involves operating machinery and handling heavy materials. Safety equipment and protocols are in place to ensure a secure workspace. Expect to be physically active and engaged in various tasks during your shift, with a focus on maintaining quality standards. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, Michigan. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
