Underwriting Support Specialist

Maintain familiarity with procedures regarding the processing of new business entries, loss runs, motor vehicle record review, premium audits, notice management and processing, and DMV requests. Manage shared inbox on a daily basis and process requests within company guidelines. Analyze and assign new business applications to the appropriate Underwriter. Process consumer and broker requests for loss runs. Run, review, and analyze Motor Vehicle Records for all drivers that are requested to be added/updated/removed to/from a policy. Order Premium Audits for the FireWatch, BTC, and BISA programs at the expiration of each policy as requested. Review returned audits for accuracy and process in the system. Manage current notice projects and coordinate appropriate assignments with departmental members for processing, including training new members. Assure notices are issued complying with state guidelines and time requirements are met. Manage DMV inbox, working closely with the ARCH Department of Motor Vehicle division to process and file requests. Maintain and update written administrative procedures and training manuals as needed. Streamline and implement efficiencies to administrative tasks as needed. Assist in cross-training team members. Maintain open communications and build relationships with underwriters, marketing, and agents to improve and sustain the flow of required information. Additional Responsibilities:
Provide backup support for other Underwriting Support associates when needed. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School diploma required. Proficient knowledge of computers in a windows-based environment required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Solid time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize, maintaining required production levels. Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Ability to comply with accepted practices and guidelines. Sit for extended periods of time. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignment to completion. $42,000 - $45,000/year Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
