Embedded Software Engineer - Ground Combat Vehicles
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance. Responsibilities: Design, configure, and validate the software development environment used to produce documentation, code, and test artifacts. Develop software documentation and code for vehicle domains such as board support packages (BSP), DSP, power management, lethality systems, software deployment, and diagnostics. Perform software requirements analysis and translate into preliminary and detailed designs using department-approved design tools. Implement software designs in Ada, C, C++, or other approved languages in compliance with department coding standards. Create and execute unit and functional test procedures. Conduct hardware/software integration and debug software issues across multiple testing phases. Build and package software releases that integrate changes from multiple developers into a complete CSCI. Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Project Management, and Software Quality teams. Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including daily standups and demonstrations. Support ground combat vehicle network architecture development and integration. Perform additional assigned duties. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Experience:
5-7+ years in embedded software development or related field. Technical Skills:
Languages/Tools: GIT, Bitbucket, Ada, C, C++, Qt, Yocto, Workbench. Operating Systems: VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization environments, BSPs, GVOS. Protocols: RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, UDP/IP. Linux build tools: Yocto. Additional Tools: Eclipse, gcc, DOORs, Jira, Confluence, gdb. Hypervisors: Type I & II (preferred). Security Features: SELinux, verified boot, trusted execution environments (preferred). System Programming: Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps (strong plus). Architecture Standards: GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, FACE.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience with ground combat vehicle systems and network architecture. Methodologies:
Agile software development processes and tools. Special Requirements:
Ability to work on and around military vehicles; must pass ASR test for confined space. Cybersecurity Knowledge:
