We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on

Engineering Manager

to lead our

iOS engineering team

, responsible for delivering premium mobile experiences across CNBC and other Versant brands. This role is a critical part of our mobile leadership, focused on creating fast, secure, elegant applications with best-in-class video, personalization, and content capabilities. You'll manage a high-performance team of iOS engineers, guiding both day-to-day development and long-term platform evolution. Your responsibilities span technical design, people development, product collaboration, and delivery excellence. You will drive best practices in code quality, performance, and user experience while building for scale and speed. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead architecture, design, and development efforts for high-scale, video-rich iOS applications Ensure the team delivers performant, secure, and maintainable Swift-based code leveraging frameworks like SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine Oversee deep integrations with video playback (HLS, DASH), personalization engines, and real-time APIs Drive consistency, scalability, and shared services across mobile platforms Collaborate with AI/ML and backend teams to embed personalized experiences within the iOS app Team Management & Mentorship Manage, coach, and grow a team of iOS engineersfostering ownership, creativity, and continuous improvement Lead technical reviews and support knowledge sharing through documentation and internal talks Promote a high bar for engineering excellence including automated testing, CI/CD, and observability Hire and onboard new engineers, helping them succeed in a fast-paced media environment Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Design, UX Research, QA, Data, and Platform teams to shape and deliver user-first features Partner with the Design team to ensure platform consistency, brand alignment, and accessibility standards are upheld Translate business objectives into reliable technical solutions that scale across audiences and platforms Delivery & Operational Excellence Own KPIs such as app performance, crash-free sessions, release cadence, and user engagement Implement monitoring, crash reporting, and proactive error handling practices Champion fast iteration without compromising qualityleading a high-trust team that delivers frequently Actively participate in incident triage and escalation for mobile issues in production Qualifications

7+ years of iOS development experience, with 2+ years managing or leading high-performing engineering teams Expert-level knowledge of

AVFoundation Proven experience building and maintaining iOS applications at scale, especially for video and content-driven platforms Strong understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, and secure data handling Deep experience with video streaming technologies, including

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
