Summary of This Role Provides direction to product development and the overall process of the product and services function. Builds products and services from existing ideas and helps to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects. Increases profitability of existing products and services to developing new solutions which advance business objectives and client needs. Builds strong working relationships with marketing, sales, support staff, product development and vendors plus senior management and key customers.
What Part Will You Play?
Manages the process from product development to product launch, ensuring execution is in line with project plan for complex product initiatives. In cases in which the product has a distinct PNL, the product manager has responsibility for managing a product's PNL to ensure profitability for product initiatives. For the International Business Segment, typical annual revenues for complex product initiatives would be approximately $250k to $500k.
For assigned products, owns, manages, and communicates a product roadmap, including collaborating with industry analysts to form competitive analysis, and with delivery, sales, and relationship management teams to determine prioritization, development and ongoing costs of delivery, and market positioning.
Develops the "go to market" packaging. Collaborates with product marketing to develop strategies based on established objectives, costs, and value proposition. Reviews research to quantify value proposition for pricing and marketing collateral. Defines pricing strategies considering competitive models, costs, value metrics, and market acceptance. Presents final pricing recommendations to management.
Develops business cases using analytical skills for new product functionalities to aid decision-making, prioritization, and client value proposition.
Collaborates with business leaders, sales, IT, legal, marketing, and relationship teams to define product goals, objectives, market positioning, and pricing strategies. Uses independent judgment for managing product strategy.
Conducts market research through industry publications, analyst reports, client surveys, etc., and maintains strategic planning approaches for research communication.
Facilitates workshops with clients and internal teams to gather product requirements and architecture decisions. Documents results for all audiences and follows up on action items.
Collaborates with delivery and architecture teams to validate detailed design, ensuring objectives and key requirements are met and aligned with market needs. Provides support during the execution phase of product development.
What Are We Looking For in This Role? Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Relevant Experience or Degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent training/experience
Typically Minimum 8 Years Relevant Experience
Experience in similar business product services and/or external customer/market experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in software development environment or professional services role; software or IT background preferred. Experience with software development, testing, or business analysis preferred. Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred.
Desired Skills and Capabilities
Broad expertise or unique knowledge contributing to company objectives and principles, achieving goals creatively and effectively. Ownership of functions or accounts, leading complex projects and matrix teams. May involve technical review processes.
Works on significant issues requiring evaluation of intangible data, exercises independent judgment, and coordinates among various groups internally and externally.
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments.
