Unit Description: The Emergency Department is a 70-bed unit that provides care for both adult and pediatric patients. Nurses in this unit must be proficient in using critical care equipment, including ventilators and BiPAP machines. The department operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5. Charting is conducted using the Cerner system, and the designated scrub color is navy.
Overview:
Must be able to assume care of adult and pediatric patients.
Critical care equipment experience required (Ventilator/BiPAP).
Auto offers with less than 2 weeks' notice for return to office (RTO).
Required certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, 8 hours of stroke CEUs, 8 hours of trauma CEUs.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of recent Emergency Department experience required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.
Travel experience is required (must have completed at least one contract assignment).
High volume/fast-paced experience is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
New Jersey License or Compact License.
AHA BLS Certification.
ACLS Certification.
PALS Certification.
NIHSS Certification.
Note: Pending certifications or certifications that expire within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted.
Work Schedule:
Weekend: Every other weekend required.
Holiday: One holiday per contract as needed.
RTO: No more than 3 days accepted.
Note: No block scheduling or special requests will be accommodated.
First Day Instructions? /Orientation:
Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.
Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;
They will receive instructions for signing on to the
Virtual Welcome
meeting and online
HealthStream Module
from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
In person class schedule list - Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use

to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
