in beautiful Yuma, Arizona. We are seeking compassionate, motivated, and adaptable Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) ready to take the next step in their professional journey. Interest Deadline: September 26th, 2025
Position Summary This
9-month paid residency
provides immersive, hands-on training in Hematology/Oncology alongside experienced physicians and APP preceptors. The program is ideal for
recent graduates
but may also consider experienced providers passionate about oncology.
Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program National board certification in your discipline Eligible for Arizona licensure
Program Overview The APP Hematology/Oncology Residency at Onvida Health is a
9-month immersive training program
designed to prepare Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for specialized practice in oncology care. The program follows a 40-hour workweek, including 36 hours of supervised clinical practice and 4 hours of didactic learning. Residents will participate in structured clinical rotations with a progressive increase in autonomy. At least
50% of the residency is focused on Hematology and Medical Oncology, with core rotations and educational experiences in: Radiation and Surgical Oncology, Palliative Care, Lung Nodule Clinic, and research.
Weekly didactic sessions include simulations, lectures, tumor boards, and integrated physician-led education. Our program integrates Quality Improvement / Evidence-Based Practice projects with mentorship, peer support, and wellness to foster professional growth and well-being. There is
no tuition for the program , and it will be eligible for accreditation through APPFA following the completion of the first cohort.
Compensation & Benefits $130,00 annual compensated residency program $1,000 CME allowance No tuition for the program 90 days of paid housing
