Position Overview

As a strategic partner to the CEO and key member of the Executive Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the company’s financial management, supporting both growth and sustainability. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, IT, HR, legal, and institutional financing. In this role, the CFO will drive profitability, mitigate financial risks, and lead the financial vision of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership : Work closely with the Board of Directors (BOD) and MiddleGround Capital to create value through financial stewardship. Develop and implement financial strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, and sustainable business expansion.
• Revenue and Profit Maximization : Design and execute financial initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and EBITDA, with a strong focus on bottom-line growth and operational efficiency.
• Cash and Treasury Management : Lead cash management strategies, including working capital optimization to efficiently reduce debt while ensuring liquidity.
• Growth and Acquisition : Identify and support strategic growth opportunities, including market expansion and acquisitions. Drive value creation through successful M&A, from due diligence to post-deal integration.
• Investor Relations : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, financial institutions, and investors. Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial matters.
• Financial Operations Oversight : Manage all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and adherence to company policies and regulations.
• Risk and Compliance Management : Uphold the company’s financial integrity by overseeing risk management policies and safeguarding financial stability. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Team Leadership and Development : Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Promote cross-functional collaboration across accounting, finance, IT, HR, and legal functions.
• Operational Reporting and Decision Support : Improve financial and operational reporting, providing actionable insights to guide strategic decision-making. Focus on identifying profitability drivers at the location, service, and customer levels.
• Capital Allocation : Oversee the efficient allocation of capital, ensuring optimal investment in growth initiatives while maintaining fiscal discipline.
• Process Improvement and Innovation : Champion technological and process innovations that improve financial reporting and operational efficiency. Leverage business intelligence tools to drive real-time decision-making.
• Ethical Leadership : Uphold the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct in all financial practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Private Equity : Experience working with private equity-backed companies and navigating rigorous reporting requirements, including detailed financial statements and operational dashboards.
• Proven Leadership : A successful track record as a CFO or senior financial executive for organizations with revenues exceeding $100M, with demonstrated experience driving strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
• M&A Expertise : Extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and post-deal consolidation. Experience with both buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Strategic and Operational Impact : Proven ability to influence the strategic direction of a business through financial leadership and operational excellence.
• Strong Communicator : Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner to internal and external stakeholders.
• Leadership Across Functions : Experience leading cross-functional teams across accounting, finance, IT, and HR to drive organizational goals and outcomes.
• CPA (Preferred) : Certification as a CPA is a plus but not required.
