Position Summary
We’re seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our growing team of software engineers, developers, and data processing experts across both our California and Texas facilities. This individual will oversee the design, development, implementation, and support of InfoIMAGE’s enterprise applications and platform solutions.
You will drive engineering excellence across multi-platform systems—spanning web applications, print processing logic, and SaaS offerings—while mentoring teams, owning strategic decisions, and ensuring best practices in software engineering, system design, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team across locations (CA and TX).
- Partner with Product, QA, and Operations to define the engineering roadmap and execution strategies.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, CI/CD, automated testing, and documentation standards.
- Lead architectural and system design reviews to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
- Own post-deployment support processes including production monitoring, bug triage, and continuous improvement.
Software & Systems Development
- Guide development of robust and secure full-stack web applications using Java (8-21), Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSP, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Oversee and support scripting and backend logic written in Python, Perl, and Bash on Linux-based systems.
- Support the design of high-availability systems for document generation, e-signatures, workflow automation, and client-facing portals.
- Ensure team delivers maintainable, configurable, and reusable modules across projects.
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Implement technical documentation practices and internal knowledge-sharing through wikis, review sessions, and team training.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to resolve production issues and meet client Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Champion Agile/Scrum methodologies and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in a team leadership or management role.
- Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software environments preferred, especially with financial institutions or regulated industries.
Technical Skills
- CI/CD & DevOps: Git, GitLab/Jenkins, Docker, NGINX, OpenTelemetry
- Tools: Jira, Microsoft O365, DocuSign, SQL clients
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities with experience managing distributed or hybrid teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey technical vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for quality, detail, and process improvement.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and drive consensus in fast-paced environments.
