About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Deputy Credit Officer to play a key role in shaping our credit risk strategy. This senior leadership position collaborates closely with the Chief Credit Officer to influence lending policies and ensure the integrity of our commercial real estate and commercial and industrial portfolios. You will be instrumental in maintaining the organization's risk appetite while promoting responsible growth.
The successful candidate will:
- Set and enforce credit policies.
- Lead underwriting teams and monitor portfolio quality.
- Actively participate in credit committees and lending strategy discussions.
- Mentor and develop high-performing credit and portfolio management teams.
- Drive innovation through process improvements, technology, and AI initiatives.
Applicants should have a minimum of 15 years of senior-level experience in commercial real estate and commercial and industrial credit, with a preference for backgrounds in healthcare or skilled nursing facilities. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in structuring complex loans, managing large exposures, and maintaining a successful balance between growth objectives and prudent risk management.
Essential qualifications include strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills, as well as a reputation for sound credit judgment and strategic thinking. You will also represent the credit function with regulators, auditors, and executive leadership and be a driving force for innovation in credit policy, analytics, and technology.
