A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled School Psychologist to support student success in a middle school setting. This contract position spans the full school year and is based in Midland, MI.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in psychological assessment, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families to foster a supportive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges, developing intervention strategies, and contributing to individualized education program (IEP) development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to identify student needs and strengths
Provide individual and group counseling focused on academic, social, and emotional development
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective intervention plans
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP and 504 planning
Offer crisis intervention and support as necessary
Maintain accurate records and documentation compliant with ethical and legal standards
Qualifications:
Masters or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge of federal and state laws governing special education
