External Investing Group (XIG)
XIG offers clients investment and advisory solutions across hedge funds, private credit, private equity, real estate, public equity, fixed income, and ESG strategies. Our investors access opportunities through fund commitments, fund-of-funds, strategic partnerships, co-investments, secondary investments, and seed-capital investments. XIG Imprint
XIG Imprint is our dedicated impact investment vertical focusing on manager selection and co-investments in private markets, including private equity, real assets, and private credit. It applies a thesis-driven approach based on primary research in climate transition and inclusive growth themes. Managing $9 billion in assets with a team of 12 professionals across three offices, Imprint was founded in 2008 and acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2015, reflecting our commitment to ESG and impact investing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Conduct sourcing and due diligence of impact private equity funds across buyout, growth, and venture capital for fund of funds, separate accounts, and advisory mandates
Build and maintain relationships with key market players in impact private markets
Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee through written and oral reports, highlighting investment and impact analysis
Coordinate investment execution, working closely with internal teams and external managers
Monitor performance and risk profiles of investments
Perform industry research to support sourcing, diligence, and monitoring
Provide portfolio updates and investment views to XIG clients
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years in private markets manager selection and 10 years in investment roles
Experience across private equity strategies such as venture, growth, and buyout preferred
Strong analytical, numerical, and assessment skills
Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills for recommendations to the Investment Committee
Effective time, people, and project management skills
Ability to work effectively in a global team environment
Demonstrated interest in impact investing
The expected base salary for this San Francisco, CA position is $125,000-$290,000, with potential discretionary bonuses for active employees at fiscal year-end.
