Senior Wastewater Engineer & Project Manager

with strong technical and project management experience to join our

Water Group

in

Southern California . The role offers flexibility to work from

Los Angeles, San Diego, or Irvine , with options for Northern CA offices in

Oakland and San Francisco . GFT operates in a hybrid work environment with flexible schedules. As a

Project Manager , you will leverage your technical and management expertise to plan, design, and construct water/wastewater infrastructure within a dynamic team environment. You will mentor junior staff, both in-office and remotely, and provide leadership in business development and project management, guiding teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. You will focus on increasing backlog, project revenue, and profitability with existing and new clients. This position is an excellent career opportunity for a proven self-starter capable of leading medium to large-scale projects with a customer-centric approach emphasizing delivery quality at the highest level. Responsibilities include: Leading project teams in planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure. Engaging with clients, delivering presentations, and coordinating project activities. Managing technical staff and consultants, developing standards, leading meetings, and tracking project schedules and budgets. Communicating effectively with municipalities and regulatory agencies. Overseeing construction contract management and observation services. Preparing technical reports and permit applications. Supervising and mentoring junior engineers. Demonstrating strong technical writing and verbal communication skills. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Masters preferred. 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater design, studies, and specifications. California PE license required. Experience with water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage, and distribution systems. Proven project management skills, including budget and schedule control. Client relations and business development experience. Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Compensation:

$175,000 - $230,000, dependent on experience and location. Benefits include: Hybrid work environment.
