Summary of Responsibilities: The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Medical Laboratory Technician performs a full range of clinical laboratory tests on various specimens.
Qualifications: SCF serves primarily Alaska Native people connected with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Native and American Indian communities within SCF’s area. Candidates should understand these cultures and their needs, aligning with SCF’s vision of wellness and its mission of collaborative health services:
High School diploma or GED.
National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
MLT Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
Native Preference: In accordance with P.L. 93-638, SCF prioritizes Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training.
Employee Health Requirements: Employment is contingent upon compliance with employee health screening and immunizations, including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19, prior to starting work. Documentation is required for healthcare personnel positions.
