Document patient symptoms and clinical history, and ensure a signed consent form is present if required.- Prepare patients for procedures, answer any questions, and effectively communicate with the radiologist for special instructions or questions regarding exam protocols.- Ensure timely and accurate recording of exam start and end times in the Radiology Information System to facilitate prompt access for the radiologist.- Maintain a safe environment, following infection control guidelines, universal precautions, and patient safety goals.- Monitor the timeliness of exams and quality of care based on established department goals, striving for continuous quality improvement. Perform quality assurance of exams prior to sending them for radiologist interpretation.- Actively participate in the clinical education of student sonographers.- Actively participate in department's Performance Improvement Projects.Physical Requirements:- Must be able to communicate orally.- Must have dexterity and visual acuity.- Must have mobility to assume awkward positions and respond to emergency situations.- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 100 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs.- Position may involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.Additional Information:- All radiology positions offer a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.- Bilingual skills and holiday coverage are not required.
