Job Opening: Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Histocompatibility Lab Shift: Night, 08 Hour Shift Job Description: Histocompatibility Lab is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform highly complex human histocompatibility testing for organ transplantation in our serological laboratory. This is an overnight shift, Monday to Friday, 10:30pm - 7:00am. The role involves HLA antibody identification, crossmatching, test specimen analysis, result interpretation, quality control monitoring, troubleshooting, and serving as a technical resource for the team. Key Responsibilities: Perform HLA antibody identification and crossmatching Analyze, interpret, and report test results Investigate quality control trends Provide training and evaluations to technicians Participate in lab projects and lead training initiatives Requirements: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license required Experience in HLA testing preferred Prior hands-on testing experience in a clinical or histocompatibility lab Education and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a life science Advanced knowledge of clinical sample testing Ability to interpret and synthesize results accurately Effective communication skills Demonstrated leadership potential Licenses and Certifications: CLS - MTA: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist required CLS - MTR: California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist required Note: Out-of-state candidates may qualify with MLS (ASCP) or CHT/CHS (ACHI) certification. Training will be provided for candidates without prior HLA experience.
