Job Type Full-timeDescriptionCERTEX USA is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Wire Rope Assembler to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama, responsible for fabricating, inspecting, and assembling various rope products to meet high-quality standards and customer specifications.Position OverviewAssembler/Fabricators accurately identify different diameters, constructions, and best possible applications for an array of products that are utilized in industries like construction, energy, mining, crane operation, space and aeronautical, deep-sea recovery and rescue. Items assembled may be constructed with wire, chain or synthetic material.Key Responsibilities/Essential DutiesReview, interpret drawings and blueprints and capacity tablesUnderstand codes and specifications as outlined on order tickets Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements and identify the appropriate equipment to produce all varieties of wire or synthetic rope and chain assembliesSplicing wire rope and fabricating chain slingsUnderstanding and operation of industrial swaging machines, proof testing machines, and forklifts Attach proper tags and labels to products Maintain Inventory Records Report defective or substandard material supplies or productShipping and receiving of goodsMaintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner, and follow all Safety GuidelinesMay be required to assist with deliveries when neededRequired Skills/AbilitiesFamiliarity with industrial tools like cutting machines, swagers, crimping tools, and winches is preferredProficient at math and readingMust be able to manage your timeMust be able to accurately read a tape measure or digital micrometerMust be 18 years of age or olderMust be persistent, energetic, and reliableOther RequirementsPass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background checkBe able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of citizenship in accordance with I-9 documentDisplay a professional and courteous attitude Report to work at the designated start timeWilling to travel to various work sites or training as requiredWilling to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessaryStrictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company's "Stop Work" policyWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directedHave the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as requiredEducation and ExperiencePrior experience in the construction, equipment or oil industry is preferredProficient at math and readingMust be able to manage your timeMust be able to accurately read a tape measure or digital micrometerMust be 18 years of age or olderMust be persistent, energetic, and reliableWorking Conditions, Hours, TravelThis job operates in a warehouse environment. This is a full-time position with standard work hours of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per weekMinimal travel is expected for this position. May be required to travel for training.Physical RequirementsThe nature of work involves a considerable physical effort and stamina to perform mechanical tasksMust be able to lift up to 75 lbs. of weight routinely during daily operationsClear vision (with or without corrective lenses) is required.
