Ruby on Rails Engineer
Location: 100% remote (preference for hybrid - Sacramento, CA) Company Domain: Consumer Electronics & Global Logistics Infrastructure Contract: 12 month extendable W2 contract As a Ruby on Rails Engineer, you'll enhance and maintain a Rails 5/6 platform powering global logistics systems for electronic recyclables, supporting a large-scale sustainability initiative focused on reducing environmental impact. This role is ideal for Ruby on Rails experts who thrive in startup-like environments and have led complex backend projects, especially in supply chain or warehouse management. Required Skills
Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails and Ruby Strong API design and integration skills (e.g., REST, JSON, XML, ProtoBuf, RPC) Basic front-end proficiency (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery) Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI) Experience with integrated testing frameworks (RSpec, MiniTest) Familiarity with AWS EC2, relational databases, and Mac-based analytics servers Nice to Have
Previous experience with warehouse or logistics management systems Golang knowledge is a plus Responsibilities
Feature development and maintenance for existing Rails 5/6 application Design, build, and integrate web applications, components, services, and APIs (3rd party and internal) Develop backend systems for electronic recyclables - inventory, scheduling, transportation, and processing Collaborate with internal and external technical teams to align on architecture and implementation Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, capacity limits, and system bottlenecks Ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms through both front-end and back-end development Create and maintain technical documentation in coordination with business and infrastructure teams Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
