Reach Truck Operator

A forklift operator, also known as a forklift driver, is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials and goods within a warehouse or other industrial setting. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and ensuring the safe and proper handling of materials. Key Responsibilities:

Operating Forklifts:

Safely and efficiently operate forklifts to move materials, including loading and unloading trucks, and moving inventory to and from designated areas. Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking incoming and outgoing items, and ensuring proper storage and organization of materials. Loading and Unloading:

Handle the loading and unloading of materials onto and off of trucks, trailers, and other transportation methods. Material Handling:

Move materials within the warehouse or industrial site, including stacking, organizing, and relocating items. Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to forklift operation and material handling, including pre-operation checks and reporting any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions. Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as checking fluid levels, and reporting any necessary repairs. Quality Assurance:

Verify the condition and accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, and report any discrepancies or damages. Communication:

Communicate effectively with other warehouse staff and supervisors regarding material movement, inventory status, and any safety concerns. Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of material movement, inventory changes, and any other relevant information. Skills Required:

Forklift Operation:

Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up models. Material Handling:

Knowledge of safe and efficient material handling techniques. Inventory Management:

Ability to track and manage inventory accurately. Safety Awareness:

Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to forklift operation and material handling. Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and resolve issues related to forklift operation, material handling, and inventory management. General Requirements:

Physical Stamina:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving materials, and standing for extended periods. Attention to Detail:

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management, record keeping, and material handling. Adaptability:

Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and tasks. Teamwork:
