The position will work as part of a team responsible for the quality control processes performed in a GMP-compliant dietary supplement manufacturing facility. All team members must be mindful of production timelines while supporting the achievement of quality, safety, sales, and production goals. In this role you'll make an impact by: Performing microbiological and analytical tests on finished products, intermediate products, raw materials, R&D materials, and production equipment/facilities. Collecting and preparing samples for testing. Preparing chemical and bacteriological media, reagents, and test solutions used in the laboratory. Reviewing vendor COAs against in-house specifications and report discrepancies. Reviewing incoming packaging components and labels for conformance to specifications. Recording laboratory test data on LIMS in a timely manner. Coordinating contract laboratory testing and review results. Performing and documenting laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration per written procedures. Recognizing and reporting potential quality problems to management. Assisting with QC investigations per written and verbal instructions. Assisting with writing and/or revising Standard Operating Procedures and Standardized Work Instructions. Analyzing retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management. Revising and/or creating new test methods and specifications that conform to company policies. Participating in laboratory instrument, method, and cleaning validations. Other QC-related duties as assigned. To succeed you must hold: An Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Microbiology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in a laboratory setting will be considered in lieu of degree. Some laboratory work experience in an FDA-regulated industry, preferably dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals is preferred. An understanding of microbiology, chemistry, and practical application of general laboratory skills. Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills. Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing priorities and handle unanticipated events without losing sight of core responsibilities. Work effectively as a team player in a diverse work group.
