Senior Business Information Management Specialist
The Senior Business Information Management Specialist is a senior technical business lead that works on complex business information management initiatives for a key business/functional area that may have enterprise wide scope. Provides leadership and expertise within this specialized field and/or other data & analytics functions that support business needs. Depth & Scope: Expert knowledge of the business and respective technical environment/ tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organizational issues Recognized as top level expert and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas Requires strong development background and a blend of skills in big data technologies, database technologies, data integration tools, production support and business acumen Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders and governs the requirements for own work Anticipates emerging business trends and associated risks as a basis for recommending large-scale technical, functional or operational improvements Advises on execution strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their own field or across multiple specialties Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact; Requires innovative thinking to develop new solutions Engages stakeholders to take action; serves as a source of expert advice, influences change; frames information in a broader organizational context Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meets the business needs on a complex project or program Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels Analyze, design, develop data repositories, warehouses and marts, data movement, data wrangling, data mapping and transformation (ETL) processes Supports Reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, applications, platforms, and/or tools that are leveraged across all functional groups (e.g., Data Scientists, Business Insights & Analytics, etc.) May also be responsible for developing sophisticated data preparation frameworks and architecture to create or modify data features for consumption by Data Scientists Supports data modeling capabilities in order to structure business data to be consumed / translated into a variety of novel capacities Supports business teams in the use and understanding of the data and reporting solutions Develops data road map/Information management strategies and corresponding technical solutions on integrating, transforming, and/or managing data Drives data-centric solution development focusing on complex data integration Adopts the Enterprise Data model in alignment with direction from the OCDO and other data & analytics functional groups Elicits, analyzes, and understands data requirements (i.e., using market research, requirements gathering, feature planning, user experience / design considerations, etc.) to enable development of information management solutions Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate 10+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background Advanced knowledge of various data sources, tools and technologies used in preparing summaries and reports Analytical and problem solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends Skill in mentoring, coaching and performance management Skill in using computer applications including MS Office Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of initiatives Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines Ability handle confidential information with discretion Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of relevant experience from business administration, strategy, presentation material preparation, influence and negotiations Experience in Risk Management Experience in Data Risk methodology Experience knowledge of substantive testing, automated control testing, 1st line QA/QC testing Experience with Strong knowledge of Python & SQL (Reading, writing , knowledge of joints etc.) Experience and strong knowledge of MS Excel (Pivot, Vlook-ups, Formula, etc.) Experience working in Collibra Strong knowledge of PowerApps, Power BI, Data Visualization, Visio, MS Office Experience in leading offshore & onshore teams Excellent Communication Skills and Stakeholder Management skills Customer Accountabilities: Leads or provides expertise to the team in defining and managing detailed system design for data integration processes or data marts/ warehouse builds or extensions Provides leadership and expertise within this specialized field and/or other data & analytics functions that support business needs. Leads development or adoption of data warehouse / big data environments by directing / collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and implementation approaches Partners with technology to troubleshoot issues, manage capacity, and plan for the optimization and expansion of environments Coordinates with project managers and resource manager to establish project plan and necessary resources Shareholder Accountabilities: Leads on complex analysis in an evolving data environment and gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data maps Applies standards and best practices to ensure that the application's data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible Works with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications Manages and coordinates efforts of data modelers, data warehouse/data integration developers, and data management process in database usage and data warehousing Implements, maintains and enhances Enterprise Data Governance related policies, in alignment with TD's Enterprise standards Provides thought leadership and insights on emerging data information management solutions or frameworks for business purposes Ensures respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities Provides leadership in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a top expert, helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations across multiple domains or projects Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite Employee/Team Accountabilities: Participates fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest Provides thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and contribute to knowledge transfer within the team, and business unit, and/or cross-functional groups or committees (e.g., Data Councils) Keeps current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques Participates in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team Keeps others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities Contributes to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce Acts as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally Physical Requirements: Never: 0%; Occasional: 1-33%; Frequent: 34-66%; Continuous: 67-100% Domestic Travel
