Job Description Salary: Administrator: Associate Athletic Director, Development Education Required: Baccalaureate degree in Sports Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Education Preferred: Baccalaureate degree or higher in Sports Administration Business, Marketing, Communications or related field. Required Experience: Demonstrated success in fundraising, athletic development, or marketing within collegiate or professional sports and proven experience securing major gifts and building donor relationships. Experience at NCAA Division 1 (including FCS football); knowledge of Big Sky Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Preferred Experience: Former student-athlete engagement preferred. Overtime Status: Exempt, not eligible for overtime FTE and Benefits: 1.0 FTE and eligible for full employment benefits Preferred Start Date: October 1, 2025

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Assistant Athletic Director, Development (Sr. Assistant AD) for the Montana State University Alumni Foundation (Alumni Foundation)is a strategic leader within the Montana State University (MSU) Athletics Department and the Alumni Foundation. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing philanthropic and sponsorship-based revenue-sharing initiatives that directly support student-athletes. The role focuses on cultivating donor relationships, securing major gifts, and creating sustainable funding models that align with evolving NCAA policies and institutional priorities.

This position plays a critical role in expanding the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund and advancing innovative revenue-sharing opportunities that empower student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.

This position requires high collaboration, motivation, and skill in creating and executing compelling giving and engagement strategies. The Sr. Assistant AD reports to the Associate Athletic Director, Development.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Associate AD to identify, cultivate and solicit donation to the Revenue Share (RevShare) funds within the Alumni Foundation to support each Athletics program $25k and above. Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects ($25k and above) with a focus on RevShare support. Coordinate events around the state that help to identify donors interested in RevShare-solicit donors to sponsor these events for student athletes and coaches. Identify different areas where the Alumni Foundation and MSU Athletics can increase areas of RevShare throughout the year. Identify areas during football, basketball and volleyball where donors would be interested in having access to student athletes to support RevShare. Ensure all revenue sharing activities comply with NCAA, Big Sky Conference, and institutional regulations. Represent MSU Athletics at game days and special events, managing premium hospitality and donor experiences. Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through personalized outreach, events, and strategic communications. Support the development of the Presidents Circle and other giving societies tied to athletics and RevShare. Collaborate with the Associate AD and Assistant AD on marketing collateral for all social media platforms to educate constituent base about RevShare and its importance for MSU's student athletes. Work independently and contribute to a collaborative environment; demonstrate the ability to work with confidential information and exercise sound judgment. Affect and maintain a professional, proactive, positive, highly collaborative, and performance-centric work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to function as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced working environment. Superior organization, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent at building and maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external constituents. Ability to solicit gifts for the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund, including but not limited to speaking with current and potential donors. Proven brand building skills and creative thought process. Detail-oriented with strong time and project management skills as well as the ability to maintain accurate and detailed reports. Technically competent and comfortable using a variety of software applications including MS Office and data management systems. Experience working with email marketing platforms and knowledge of tracking effective analytics. Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions and recommendations. Eager to play an important role on the annual giving team and to be a part of a mission-driven fundraising operation. Excellent work ethic including willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
