Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Radiology - Breast Health Manager, this position performs and assists with screening and diagnostic procedures and biopsies of the breast to help in the prevention and diagnosis of breast cancer or other breast health problems. These procedures may involve sophisticated and/or complicated exams requiring independent judgement and initiative. Works with patients of all cultures and physical conditions. Performs other related duties as assigned.Work Schedule: 40 hrs weekly / 1.0 FTE; 40 hours a week. May work shifts between 7am-7pm. Closed all major holidays.Required Qualifications: Completion of an AMA accredited program of Radiology Technology or the Canadian equivalent. Must provide proof of completion of a Mammography Training program upon start if not Mammography board certified upon start. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R) Must have Mammography Training Certificate (tracked by dept) Mammography Registration via ARRT within 1 year of first day of employment (M) Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider) Ability to work independently Knowledge of procedures used to produce specific medical images. Knowledge of human anatomy, physics and chemistry Knowledge of safety techniques, including radiation safety, required during radiologic/medical imaging procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients, age, cultures and physical conditions. Ability to work in stressful situations. Ability to operate regular and specialized medical imaging equipment, and medical imaging accessory devices and equipment. Learning agility to gain knowledge of all routines and procedures in the area.
