Senior Software Engineer Android

SoundHound’s Engineering team builds products enjoyed by over 300 million users around the globe, and maintains a set of SDKs giving developers easy access to our Voice AI platform, Houndify. Our Mobile Engineering team at SoundHound is responsible for shipping two revolutionary applications: SoundHound, a popular Music and Search app, and Hound, a natural language personal assistant. In this role, you'll leverage SoundHound's cutting-edge backend technology to delight our users worldwide. You will work with a passionate and collaborative team to create polished mobile experiences, contributing to features like 'LiveLyrics' and Hound's natural speech understanding. Interested? Read on! Responsibilities: Architect and develop Android applications using the latest standards. Transform concepts and specifications into functional app features. Utilize modern development tools to craft solutions and monitor progress. Requirements: Published an app on the Google Play Store, individually or as part of a team. Strong English communication skills. Deep knowledge of Android and Java programming. Understanding of object-oriented design and patterns. Experience with server API-driven development. Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced startup environment with tight schedules and small teams. BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. Nice to Haves: Experience with low latency audio, networking, performance analysis, or third-party SDKs. Worked on apps scaled to millions of users.
