General Summary
Under the general direction of the Chief or Manager/Director, provides overall management of the Department/Division/Program research portfolio in partnership with Principal Investigators to ensure compliance and successful completion of research activities. Performs complex pre-award and post-award functions for all federal and/or state grant funds, private foundation grants, subcontracts, discretionary and endowment funds, and/or any other sponsored funds.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic planning, financial analysis, and long-term projections for the department/division/program.
Advise Principal Investigators on proposal development, budgets, sponsor regulations, and grant submissions.
Manage full grant lifecycle, including pre-award, post-award, effort reporting, and compliance oversight.
Oversee financial operations by monitoring spending, analyzing expenses, forecasting, reconciling variances, and reporting results.
Collaborate with institutional offices to address research faculty needs and resolve complex grant-related issues.
Supervise, mentor, and train staff while establishing policies, systems, and procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
Minimum Requirements Education
Bachelors in Business Administration or Public Health Experience
7 years of research administrative experience required.
