Lead the engineering efforts for Discord’s growing
Ads team , focused on building scalable
delivery, targeting, and measurement systems
from the ground up. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role helping define the future of monetization at Discord. Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for the Ads platform Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, and Business Development to build revenue-generating products Lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers Develop scalable, user-focused ad infrastructure and systems Establish and uphold high engineering standards and best practices Make principled decisions on staffing and resources, aligned with long-term strategy Collaborate on strategic planning with senior leadership Requirements
5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager Strong background in Ads/Ad Tech systems (delivery, targeting, or measurement) Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering teams Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business impact Hands-on technical leadership; still comfortable engaging with code Preferred Qualifications
Deep experience in ad platforms, especially at scale Familiarity with Discord’s product and user experience Understanding of the gaming industry and digital communities Additional details Salary range: $304K–$342K Additional compensation: equity + full benefits Must be based in or willing to relocate to the SF Bay Area Relocation assistance may be offered Why Discord?
