Job Description Salary: Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to support both merchant and contracted structures. Backed by BlackRock's Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic and established portfolio of 787.5/1375 MW of utility-scale energy storage projects operating or in construction in the U.S., with a leading pipeline of over 11,000 MW in active development. Jupiter seeks to grow its team with the recruitment of a key hire to help manage project development activities. Multiple positions are available, with roles focused on regions such as ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, SPP, MISO, or PJM. Responsibilities include all key development activities, from complex permitting and land acquisition to advancing conceptual design, planning, interconnection, and supporting construction and project execution. As a tight-knit, interdisciplinary team, collaboration on priorities is essential, and individuals are expected to be flexible and focused on broader team goals. The candidate should be a quick learner, hardworking, and enthusiastic about working with the entire development and broader Jupiter teams to advance the company's significant and growing platform. The individual is expected to apply best-in-class principles, with coworkers doing the same. This role is based in the Chicago, IL office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office, according to our return-to-office policy. Principal Responsibilities Advance Jupiter's leading portfolio of development projects from initial desktop screening through pre-construction. Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, first responders, counterparties, environmental, market, and technical experts, and facilitate project permitting processes. Contribute to the development team's goals and the creation of best practices for energy storage development. Create and manage project budgets, development plans, and schedules to ensure projects remain on track through all phases. Lead internal and external teams to progress permitting, interconnection, and engineering activities to bring projects to NTP. Collaborate with teams to understand market, transmission, regulatory, and competitive dynamics in target markets. Manage project due diligence for commercial and M&A activities. Support internal investment approval processes and prepare board materials. Requirements 5+ years of experience in energy project development, preferably focused on standalone energy storage. High attention to detail with strong organization and prioritization skills for navigating complex processes. Experience leading teams to successfully deliver complex projects. Proactive, hardworking, and able to take initiative within a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with limited information under tight deadlines. Familiarity with energy storage technologies and deployments. Compensation & Benefits $140,000 - $170,000 annually. Compensation includes base salary, potential bonuses, and equity participation.
