ABOUT THE ROLE
At SoundHound, our data and engineering teams are among our biggest assets. This role sits at the intersection of both. We have extensive data from hundreds of millions of users across our platforms: SoundHound : music app with search, discovery, and LiveLyrics Hound : app with advanced speech recognition and natural language understanding Houndify : platform enabling developers to add voice-enabled conversational interfaces We aim to leverage this data for informed decision-making in product development, marketing, and user engagement. This is an opportunity to work on complex data engineering and science problems, build large-scale distributed machine learning systems using technologies like Spark, Kafka, HBase, and Hive. RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement real-time data pipelines for insights Utilize large datasets for modeling, recommendations, and reporting Create scalable user-facing systems for ad targeting, messaging Develop frameworks for A/B testing and visualize results with tools like Tableau REQUIREMENTS
Strong coding skills in Java, Scala, or Python Experience with large-scale Big Data environments (Spark, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent NICE TO HAVES
Knowledge of NoSQL stores like HBase, Cassandra, Redis, Riak, MongoDB Experience with data modeling, machine learning, frameworks like Spark MLlib Experience with analytical tools such as Tableau Please include a cover letter explaining why you'd enjoy working at SoundHound.
