Job Summary: POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm seeking a senior-level electrical engineer to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) support for their Central Region Power Delivery Substation Department. The role involves detailed design of utility substations, ensuring quality procedures are followed, and mentoring less experienced staff. Responsibilities: • Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high voltage utility substations • One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling • Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices • Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner • Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution • Occasional travel will be required Qualifications: Required: • BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option • Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards • Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team • Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel • Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Preferred: • 10+ years experience in utility substation design is preferred • Professional Engineering license (PE) • Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients • Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design Company: POWER Engineers is a consulting engineering firm specializing in the delivery of integrated solutions.
