Associate General Counsel- Commercial Property

Position Description: Reporting to the Head of Legal for Lexington and AIG’s North America Retail Property organizations, and as part of the North America Insurance Legal team, this role will provide day-to-day legal support to the senior leadership of AIG’s North America Wholesale and Retail Property units. This position offers the opportunity to impact the growth and success of these business units. Primary responsibilities include: Providing legal support to Lexington Insurance’s Wholesale Property and AIG’s Retail Property organizations, advising on transactional, regulatory, legal, and compliance matters; Collaborating with stakeholders on negotiating and reviewing insurance policies, endorsements, notices, and related agreements; Monitoring legal and regulatory trends affecting commercial property insurance products and distribution; Working with regulatory teams on compliance and regulatory inquiries; Developing a thorough understanding of the business and market operations. Education and Experience: Experience with property and casualty insurance products and regulation; 3+ years in a law firm or in-house legal department; JD from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in at least one state. Skills and Abilities: Collaborative leadership skills; Strong initiative, attention to detail, and analytical skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs; Effective organizational and time management skills; Sound legal and business judgment. The salary range is $118,000-$159,200, with eligibility for a bonus and comprehensive benefits.
