Position Summary The Electric Project Management leadership oversees teams of Project Managers. The workgroup may consist of all regular employees, contractors, or both, and is responsible for managing electric transmission capital projects throughout the service territory. The incumbent is typically assigned to a region or area with an annual project portfolio budget. The leaders promote a safety culture and ensure staff adhere to all company and regulatory safety practices and policies. PG&E provides the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid will be based on multiple factors, including skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although the successful candidate is likely to be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis. $244,000 This job is eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. This position is hybrid, requiring work from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters is flexible within the Bay Area. Responsibilities : Manage the portfolio of assigned projects, ensuring all are designed safely and constructed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or regulatory impacts. Manage and forecast accurate project costs aligned with budgets. Identify and resolve project issues proactively to keep projects on plan, meeting cost, scope, and schedule commitments. Work directly with client/sponsor organizations to understand project scopes and assign project managers accordingly. Establish expectations, metrics, and tracking tools to measure performance. Develop workload plans and strategies to support five-year plans with balanced internal and external resources. Regularly meet with project managers to review project statuses. Collaborate with technical project management teams across departments to improve operations and processes. Stay updated on best practices in project management and recommend process improvements. Supervise staff through recruitment, training, performance management, and recognition. Supervise project managers represented by the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and contractors. Qualifications Minimum : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI. Six years of relevant experience in technical or program management in the utility industry or business management in the utility industry. Three years of supervisory experience in project management, engineering, and construction of Transmission/Distribution projects. Desired : Master of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering. Knowledge of utility industry regulatory processes. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification. Leadership skills in driving work progress and process improvements. Knowledge of electric transmission, distribution networks, and substations. Strong project management, scoping, and cost estimating skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Influence, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Primavera, SAP, SRM systems. Knowledge of Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Union Contract. Financial acumen, including contingency cost estimating and contract negotiation skills.
