The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers (League)

was founded in 1972 as one of the country's first state Primary Care Associations (PCAs). Established under the same federal legislation as the health center program (Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act), PCAs support health centers and their communities. The League is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Boston with a training center in Worcester. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the VP, Finance, the Senior Program Manager, Finance manages the loan accounting functions of the MA Repay Loan Program, a $310M+ state-funded initiative supporting healthcare professionals serving underserved populations. Responsibilities include overseeing loan accounting operations, supervising the Finance Coordinator, ensuring data accuracy and compliance, and collaborating with internal stakeholders for cash flow management, disbursements, recoupments, bank reconciliations, reporting, and compliance. The role requires nonprofit finance expertise, leadership, and a collaborative approach to systems and process improvements. Essential Functions: Maintain infrastructure (general ledger and financial software) to support a high volume of transactions, including payments, recoupments, and compliance reporting. Collaborate across departments to ensure system, policy, and workflow integration. Provide feedback to identify and resolve issues promptly. Train and mentor the loan repayment finance team. Manage team activities such as loan system input, creating accounting entries, daily reconciliations, data integrity reviews, and reporting. Handle specific accounting entries related to loan participation, OREO, and charge-offs. Education/Experience: MBA in finance or accounting, or BA/BS with relevant experience. 3-5 years in accounting and loan operations within nonprofits. Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and government grants. Proficiency with accounting systems, Microsoft Office 365, and Excel. Skills and Competencies: Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. High emotional intelligence and collaboration skills. Proactive, creative, detail-oriented strategic thinker. Requirements: Must be able to talk, hear, remain stationary for 80% of the time, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Travel may be required.
