Assistant Controller Our client is a global investment management firm with a wide range of investment products. (Hybrid roll - 3 days in office) The Assistant Controller acts as an intermediary between the private equity portfolio managers and external vendors including fund administrators, auditors, and tax professionals. This position will oversee operations for various private equity funds across the firm's investment platform and provide oversight to fund administrators in recording and reconciling transactions. Responsibilities include: Overseeing third-party service providers (Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Valuation providers, Tax providers, Audit, etc.), including reviewing and approving quarterly and monthly financial statements, capital account statements, and investor reports prepared by funds. Assisting with SEC filings and regulatory compliance such as NPORT, NCSR, NCEN, 38a-1 reporting, 15(c) reporting. Reviewing management fee and carried interest calculations. Reviewing key performance metrics such as fund IRRs and total returns. Monitoring cash reserves and approving capital call and distribution notices. Analyzing investment capital activity and related journal entries for accuracy. Facilitating receipt and review of expenses and allocations. Performing data validation between external and internal sources. Maintaining real-time tracking of financial data, management fees, and expenses. Providing data and ad hoc reports to senior management and the investment team. Preparing and reviewing quarterly Adviser Reports for the Board of Directors. Supporting other firm functions including Investor Relations, Client Reporting, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Accounting. Interfacing with external auditors and tax professionals to manage audits, tax provisions, returns, and distribution of K-1s and 1099s. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in accounting or finance, CPA preferred. 5-8 years of experience, including 3-5 years in Big 4 public accounting with a focus on private equity. Knowledge of 40 Act funds, RIC funds, and partnership accounting, reporting, and tax. Strong familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and Lux GAAP standards. Experience with applications like Chronograph, Canoe, Appian, Tableau is a plus but not required. Why is This a Great Opportunity? The firm manages complex structures and investment vehicles.
