Senior Mechanical Engineer

to join their Baltimore-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead HVAC system design for new construction and renovation projects across a variety of sectors, including federal, healthcare, higher education, and science and technology.

Role Overview:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design and documentation of mechanical systems. This role involves client engagement, project management, and mentoring junior engineers, with a focus on delivering high-quality, code-compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design HVAC systems for new and existing facilities. Conduct load and energy calculations using tools such as Trace 700/3D or IES. Perform site surveys and document existing mechanical systems. Develop system design calculations and equipment selections. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Ensure code compliance and perform QA/QC reviews. Lead project teams and serve as the primary client contact. Support business development and client relationship efforts.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and design standards. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 2 years of project management experience. Experience with federal, healthcare, or institutional projects. LEED experience or certification. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is a plus.
