Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr

Ultimately, our strategists need to consider how the human insight and brand ethos will be pulled through every multi-channel touchpoint in service of the entire brand experience. It requires integration with the cross-functional teams of account, creative, media, data, connections planning to see the larger vision for the brand, including what success looks like in terms of measurable performance metrics. The Role in a Nutshell

This Strategy Director is a brand strategist with deep retail expertise, social-first affinity, and a proven track record in crafting omnichannel, brand and promotional campaigns, with experience in tailoring strategies to expansion markets. As the guardian of a brand stepping into new territories, they ensure the core brand ethos remains true and cohesive—while smartly adapting campaign strategies to reflect cultural, retail, and audience nuances of each emerging market. Rooted in planner-led research, this role transforms insights into localized yet integrated brand and promotional activations—from in-store experiences and social media messaging to influencer engagements—working closely with creative, media, and connected experience teams to ensure each campaign resonates locally and builds global brand strength.

Responsibilities

• Own brand strategy, translating business objectives into omnichannel, brand execution.

Uphold brand consistency to deliver channel-smart strategies, including social-first and

retail-focused activations that flex in tone, messaging, and execution to suit emerging market

contexts.

• Drive strategic promotional campaign planning and execution, managing the end-to-end

lifecycle—from ideation to launch, performance tracking, and ongoing optimization—

ensuring campaigns are both culturally attuned and aligned with overarching brand goals.

• Flex Social strength. With culture as an essential driver, demonstrate an affinity for, and

understanding of, organic social to develop brand-minded organic social strategies based on

platform trends and audience insights. In partnership with the content strategist, create

messaging plans for social channels.

• Develop big-picture and market-specific frameworks, employing customer journey maps,

local market intelligence, and campaign calendars that integrate promotional levers—such as

influencer partnerships, digital ads, in-store activations, and social content—to connect

cohesively across markets.

• Monitor and reflect brand culture code, merging qualitative and quantitative data --

including regional audits, custom consumer and employee interviews and surveys, social

listening, and competitive reviews—to shape strategy, guide creative direction, and establish

communication frameworks that adapt messaging to resonate with local cultural values and

norms.

• Ideate and communicate to champion brand vision, including the planning and facilitation of

innovation workshops with cross-functional client teams and stakeholders.

• Dynamic presentation skills, reflecting the confidence and credibility to own the room in front

of clients and new business prospects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Relevant areas of study - Marketing, Advertising, Business,

Shopper Marketing, Business Analytics.

• 8 + years of industry experience, including retail brands, leading and working with marketing

teams to develop brand and promotional campaign strategies.

• Agency background strongly preferred.

• Demonstrates ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment,

remaining positive and professional under pressure.

• Experience acting as a Lead Strategist on new business pitches.

• Has a passion for research, digging for insights, understanding human and consumer

behavior, and an eagerness to learn.

• Experience driving strong, trusting relationships with client partners that lead to incremental

growth opportunities for accounts.

• Chicago-based. Willing to travel to Tulsa, OK approximately 2x per month for in-person

client meetings and work sessions.
