Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Backup and Storage Engineer to oversee backup strategy, data protection, and enterprise storage administration. This role requires expertise in Veeam, Dell EMC Isilon, and backup tape handling. The candidate must also be proficient in developing and maintaining batch jobs and automation scripts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive backup strategy for critical systems.
• Manage and operate Veeam Backup & Replication for both physical and virtual environments.
• Configure, manage, and maintain Dell EMC Isilon NAS storage, including quotas, replication, and snapshots.
• Oversee backup tape rotation, inventory tracking, offsite movement, and audit compliance.
• Maintain detailed documentation of backup procedures, storage policies, schedules, and tape logs.
• Create and maintain batch jobs and scripts (e.g., PowerShell or CMD) to automate backup and storage tasks.
• Perform routine backup validation and test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Coordinate with application, storage, and infrastructure teams to align backup, recovery, and storage requirements.
• Manage incidents/requests relating to Backup and Storage (as per ITIL).

Skills & Experience

• Proficient in configuring and managing Veeam Backup & Replication (v10 and above).
• In-depth knowledge of Dell EMC Isilon storage systems and administration.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level backup and storage strategies.
• Hands-on experience managing backup tape inventory, movement logs, and offsite rotation.
• Proficient in creating and maintaining automation scripts and batch jobs for operational tasks.
• Familiar with disaster recovery planning and RPO/RTO alignment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
