The Counsel job works to support the protecting of an organization's rights, obligations and privileges and its legal interests by drafting legal advice and by ensuring the legal activities meet the current and future needs of the organization. This job provides support in legal advice and counsel in business-related areas of expertise, such as corporate law, real estate, tax, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, compliance, intellectual property, employment/labor, corporate governance, and ethics.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Provides support in hands-on legal advice, guidance and counsel to management and supports the operations of legal department.
Assists with the protecting of the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation.
Structures and drafts legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.
Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of legal risk in areas such as, but not limited to, corporate law, real estate, tax, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, compliance, intellectual property, employment/labor, corporate governance, and ethics.
Researches, analyzes, and interprets proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
Advises management on recent changes in laws and regulations that affect the company.
Liaises with external legal counsel on legal issues related to protecting the company and gaining external advice on matters that may impact the company.

- Doctoral Degree Law Required
