CMM Programmer
A dynamic machine shop specializing in the aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial industries is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer. The position requires performing in-process and first article inspections, verifying compliance with drawing/planning requirements and customer purchase orders, and implementing advanced GD&T concepts. The role involves programming CMM machines using CAD models and offline software.
Responsibilities
- Perform and record first article, in-process, and final part inspections.
- Control non-conforming products according to established procedures.
- Conform to AS9100 quality system standards.
- Maintain product identification, traceability, and status.
- Follow instructions of related QMS procedures and Work Instructions.
- Develop and maintain CMM programs.
- Evaluate blueprints and specifications to implement correct inspection criteria.
- Maintain probes and back-up probes.
- Clean and maintain CMM machines.
- Maintain attachments and fixtures.
- Perform shop floor audits and report findings.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in quality inspection and CMM programming for aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial industries.
- Proficiency in GD&T, blueprint evaluation, and quality control.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming.
- Ability to read and use standard inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Experience in performing final inspections and CMM inspections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS for CMM 101 or equivalent.
- Experience with PC-DMIS for CMM 201 and 202 scanning or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience with Verisurf.
- Ability to comprehend and assist others with advanced GD&T concepts.

Work Environment
The work environment is a 50,000 sq/ft aerospace machine shop with over 50 CNC machines. The site manufactures parts used in various high-stakes applications, including jet fighters, missiles, commercial airplanes, helicopters, satellites, race cars, medical equipment, and water pumps. Candidates should be aware that some parts are used for military purposes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Fe Springs, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
